Join Lambda Literary award finalist Christine Stark for a reading from her nominated book. “Nickels: A Tale of Dissociation” uses prose poetry to tell the story of a biracial girl named Little Miss So and So, following her from age four into adulthood, through violence at the hands of her family, resistance against homophobia, and dissociation as a means of survival and healing. In addition to teaching writing at Metropolitan State University, Stark is a visual artist and public speaker whose work focuses on topics including sexual violence, human trafficking, and other social justice issues.
