Gypsy jazz, Floridian fauna, meth dealers, and high school memories all figure prominently in Emily St John Mandel’s The Lola Quartet. In this noir-flavored mystery, disgraced journalist Gavin Sasaki and the other members of his high school jazz quartet search for a missing woman who may or may not have had Gavin’s child.

Mandel will be joined by Sarah Weinman, news editor for Publisher’s Marketplace and the author of “Confessions of an Idiosyncratic Mind,” a blog dedicated to crime fiction.
